Adorable and full of vintage charm! This small bisque doll, marked “Japan”, dates from the 1920s–1940s and features jointed arms, molded blond hair with a green bow, and a hand-painted yellow and black striped swimsuit.
These dolls, often called “penny dolls”, were popular souvenirs and playthings in the early 20th century, exported from Japan to the U.S. and Europe.
